what parents and students say
testimonialsOur family was very happy to have found Roseville Ballet and Performing Arts. Having done a lot of ballet myself I knew what I wanted from a teacher and school; which was excellent teaching of technique, a beautiful sense of expression, RAD exams and an opportunity to develop on a more advanced level if the students showed talent. Their concerts are excellent, each class and child is given choreography that makes them shine at whatever level they are dancing. The concerts are so professional and do not go on for hours but give all the children a chance to perform at their best. The children who want to go further are offered solos and troupe work in local eisteddfods which is great for their confidence. Those that show exceptional talent are not held back either but encouraged to follow their dreams by either applying for the Australian Ballet Interstate program or in the case of jazz are sometimes even offered work on a professional level as they mature.
Although the standard of the school is so high the students are not pushed to attend classes every day but in a manageable way with their school studies too. Many students have continued lessons right through to their HSC and beyond and still had excellent HSC results in the high 90s.
My daughter trained with Christine Treweek for 11 years (from primary school through to university), attaining her RAD Advanced 1 level qualifications, achieving success in many eisteddfods and developing an enduring love of dance and the arts. Christine's experience and skills as a teacher are second to none and the quality of Christine's teaching is recognised and acknowledged by others in the industry. My daughter has received comments about her excellent technique and training when attending open classes, including adult ballet classes at Sydney Dance Company. The disciplines developed in the ballet studio and in performing on stage are important life skills that Christine helped foster and have enhanced every aspect of my daughter's life.
My two daughters are and have been attending RB&PA for the past 12 years and have made many lovely friendships with both students and teachers alike. They have experienced a very disciplined and enjoyable dance program. Through the various dance genres ie ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre taught at RB&PA the girls have gained great skills in determination, discipline, commitment and resilience which they have applied to their regular schooling and to any other activities they have tried. Initially I did not think that they would continue to enjoy the dance, giving them only a year or two to see if the 'dance phase' would wear off, but they have continued (12 years later!) to still enjoy the dance phase. As a family I thought it would be a good idea to enrol not just my daughter but my older son to attend a fun musical theatre program. It was a great way for him to come out of his comfort zone and gain more self confidence - Highly recommended particularly if siblings enjoy singing to each other instead of the regular talking or shouting.

The studio has become a pivotal part of my childhood and my confidence and discipline are all traits indebted to countless days that I enjoyed there. When I look back at my time there, I am filled with nothing but love for everyone there. To my teachers, Ms Christine, Ms Sophie and Ms Shannon, I am forever thankful for the opportunities and endless nurture they have provided me with and to the girls, I am truly grateful for the way they made the studio such a comforting and fun environment. They are the people I have grown up with I and I feel a special connection with each and every one of them. I miss many things about dance. The nerves before a ballet exam, entertaining end-of-year troupe dinners, the exciting buzz of the annual concert, the smell of hairspray and makeup and the blinding heat of the stage lights are all experiences deeply embedded in my soul. They are nostalgic moments I have grown up with and continue to treasure and hold close to my heart. They cannot be replicated and I cannot imagine my childhood any other way. Most of my core memories are of the studio which only further emphasises to me how special Roseville Ballet really was.
SY.K
Roseville Ballet & Performing Arts provides expert tuition in RAD ballet, jazz and contemporary in a caring environment with outstanding results. We feel part of the family here rather than just a body like in larger schools.
Teachers are approachable for a chat anytime, so you always know how your child is doing. I would highly recommend Roseville Ballet!
